14 things you can do when you feel like crap in the morning
Do you ever wake up and feel like complete crap? Like you want to hide from the whole world and just disappear, but then you realize that there are a bunch of things that you need to do and places you need to be and all of these things on your to do list that just overwhelm you at the thought of them and then you fear that you’re ALWAYS GOING TO FEEL LIKE THIS! It’s an awful feeling and I’ve definitely been there-like A lot and let me tell you that it sucks. If you’re reading this then you’ve probably experienced it as well and maybe you’re experiencing it today and know that it’s not a fun place to be. When I go into that state, and I actually used to be in that state every day-I have found the following to be helpful choose 1 or 2 of these and let me know how it goes:
1) Don’t think about the whole overwhelming day-just do the next step that could lead you to feeling better or if you NEED to be somewhere just put one foot in front of the other and take each segment of the day as it comes-like “ok now I just need to get in the shower-is there anything that I can do to make this shower more satisfying”
2) Give yourself a break-remember that just because you’re having a shitty day, week, month or year, does not make you a bad person or worthless, it just means you have some resistance to feeling good
3) Cancel anything that you’re not actually obliged to do-I know this may seem like copping out but you need to find a sense of ease right now-remember that when you do something from a place of feeling bad, the results are usually bad-better to save some of these items for a day when you feel better
4) Try tapping on the karate chop point only (right where you would chop something using a karate move)-Even though I feel like crap, I love and accept myself, even though I feel like I am a piece of crap, I love and accept myself, Even though I’m afraid that something is really wrong with me, I love and accept myself , Even though I’m having the worst day ever, I love and accept myself. Keep going with any words that feel right to you.
5) Focus as much action as you can on feeling better-pull out all of your tools, tapping, mediation, essential oils or any of the above. Even if you don’t feel better right away like today, tomorrow, or even the next day, when you use these energy, mood, and vibration shifting tools, when you do emerge into the light, you will feel 10 times better than you did before you sunk into that funk. I know it’s hard to do things that feel good and are good for you when you feel like doo doo but pick the easiest one, even if it’s just putting one finger on a tapping point and saying something. Let that gain some momentum just as the negative state has a lot of momentum
6) “Hang on it will be over soon” One of my favorite Abraham Hicks quotes! Just get through the damn day and remember that this is only a temporary state. It’s not forever and it can and will change in an instant. If you go into fear that it will never go away on top of the shitty feeling, you’re piling more crap onto the pile which means more resistance to tap through.
7) Know that you’re thoughts are mostly complete shit right now so get another voice in your head ASAP-pick a very uplifting podcast, audiobook or youtube channel. Hint-even though a lot of podcasts pretend to be uplifting they really aren’t so really tune into how you FEEL when you’re listening. You want to feel calmed, hopeful, peaceful and that all is well, not that you’re “making excuses” or that you should do things that don’t feel good or before you feel ready to do them. I love me some Abraham Hicks. There are thousands of free Abraham Hicks workshop excerpts on youtube, just search for “Abraham Hicks” and whatever it is that is getting you down and if you’re ready for that kind of knowledge to be dropped on you, you’ll start to feel better today, tomorrow, or some time very soon. Eckhart Tolle is another good one to listen to as well.
8) Shift your location-get out of bed, go into another room, go outside, turn on a comedy or go to sleep if you can. Sleep is great when you feel bad because it resets you, until you start thinking the same thoughts you were thinking when you felt badly-so if you know that you’re thoughts are crap-which you will know based on the way you feel-listen to another voice-literally or find some better feeling thoughts
9) Do some writing. But not writing where you are just letting your shitty thoughts become more shitty! You need to train your thoughts into a place in which they FEEL better. Check out this post for some ways to do that
10) Realize that things can change so quickly!
11) Let go of the NEED to feel better immediately-this will just feel like pressure to your body and system and it will not work-Have the intention to feel better but know that if it doesn’t happen right now, it will eventually and you may just need a good night sleep
12) Realize that your feelings are providing you with CLARITY-as to what you like about your situation and what you don't like about your situation, the feelings that you want to feel and the feelings that you don't want to feel. Allow them to do just that and do not get stuck in them for too long.
13) If there are things that you absolutely need to do, pick the easiest and most doable first, then the next easiest etc.
14) If you are a woman, check where you are in your cycle. It could be that! Once you know that the way you’re feeling is hormonal, it allows you to take a step back and really know that what is going on will be better soon! Clary Calm works wonders for this!
